The EAE LC200 KNX Line Coupler connects two KNX twisted-pair bus segments with galvanic isolation — typically a main line to a sub-line, or a line to a backbone. It filters telegrams according to the bus hierarchy and an extended filter table for main groups 0–31, reducing unnecessary traffic on sub-lines and improving overall network stability.
The LC200 supports KNX long frames and is compatible with ETS 4.2 and higher. It can be configured as a line coupler (line ↔ backbone) or as a line repeater to extend a KNX line beyond standard length limits. On-device function buttons allow disabling the filter for commissioning tests, and six multicolour LEDs show traffic, errors, and filter status on each connected segment. Power is supplied from the KNX main line — no external supply required.
Key Features — Filtering, Isolation, and Repeater Mode
Traffic Management
- Hierarchy filtering: Routes telegrams based on installation place in the KNX topology.
- Extended filter table: Group-oriented filtering for main groups 0–31.
- Galvanic isolation: Electrical separation between main line and sub-line segments.
- Long telegram support: Handles extended APDUs required in modern KNX applications.
Operation and Diagnostics
- Line coupler or repeater: Configurable for backbone coupling or line extension.
- Filter bypass: Function buttons disable routing filter for commissioning diagnosis.
- Manual function: One-button activation to transmit all group telegrams during commissioning (auto-reset, up to 8 h).
- Six multicolour LEDs: Main line, sub-line, mode, and programming status with error indication.
- Default address: Factory individual address 15.15.0 — line coupler at x.y.0, backbone coupler at x.0.0.

Applications and KNX Integration
- Large installations: Structure multi-line KNX projects with filtered sub-lines for floors, wings, or tenant zones.
- Bus load reduction: Prevent unnecessary group telegrams from flooding low-traffic sub-lines.
- Line extension: Repeater mode for lines that exceed standard TP length or device-count guidelines.
- Commissioning: Manual function and filter bypass simplify group-address testing before handover.
- IP backbone alternative: For cross-building coupling over LAN, use the EAE IPR200 KNX IP Router; power KNX segments from an EAE PS640 Power Supply.
Choosing EAE System Devices
The LC200 is the compact TP-only coupler at just 1 MW — ideal for in-panel line/sub-line separation with filter tables and galvanic isolation. When segments must be linked over Ethernet, choose the EAE IPR200 IP Router instead. For hotel GRMS room controllers that combine PSU, Modbus TCP, and occupancy logic, see the EAE KMG103 Gateway.
