ABB JA/M2.230.1 is the ABB i-bus® KNX Shutter Actuator Module, 2-fold, 230 V AC. Its relay contacts switch two independent electric drives such as shutter motors, blind motors or ventilation-flap drives.
It snaps into a compatible RC/A4.2 or RC/A8.2 Room Controller slot. The host supplies the module interface, detects the inserted type and provides KNX communication, ETS parameterisation and manual functional testing. The module is not a standalone KNX device.
Function and Application
- Channels: 2 mechanically interlocked UP/DOWN relay outputs.
- Application: Reversing control of two independent 115/230 V AC drives.
- Host compatibility: RC/A4.2 and RC/A8.2 basis devices.
- Commissioning: Through the selected host Room Controller application; there is no separate module KNX address or product database.

Installation and Safety
Connect only compatible AC drives and never use the interlocked relay outputs as a safety isolator. Observe the one-drive-per-output and motor-manufacturer requirements. Isolate the Room Controller and all field/load circuits before inserting, removing or wiring the module. ABB currently publishes IP54 for the product; treat this as a configured Room Controller value, not a freestanding enclosure rating.
