The M/DMX512.1 KNX DMX Recorder Module is a high-performance gateway designed to seamlessly integrate DMX512 lighting systems with the KNX/EIB bus. Designed for professional DIN-Rail Mount installation, this module supports two-way control, acting as both a translator and a dedicated lighting sequence recorder.This powerful gateway can record, play, and delete complex DMX programs, storing and playing back up to 24 programs with an impressive maximum recording time of 4 hours. It is widely used to control advanced DMX devices for LED color control, such as computer lights, moving head lights, and laser lights, making it essential for entertainment and architectural lighting applications.The M/DMX512.1 supports key protocols including DMX512-1990, ArtNet DMX, and HDL NET DMX, and is the ideal interface for integrating specialized lighting with the main building automation system.

1. M/DMX512.1 KNX DMX Recorder Module: Three Operating Modes

The module’s flexibility stems from its three distinct working modes, enabling comprehensive two-way communication between KNX and DMX systems, with up to 48 channels of control.

Functional Modes and Capacity:

  • DMX Recorder Mode: Allows the user to record, store, and playback up to 24 DMX programs.
  • DMX Dimming Mode (EIB to DMX): Supports switching or dimming for up to 48 DMX channels, allowing the KNX system (e.g., via a KNX Touch Panel) to control DMX devices.
  • DMX to EIB Conversion Mode: Supports switching or absolute dimming for up to 48 KNX channels, allowing DMX signals to control the KNX system.
  • Input Control: DMX input functions include Sequence control, Scene control, Switch control, Relative dimming, and Absolute dimming.
  • Supported Signals: Fully compliant with DMX512-1990, ArtNet DMX, and HDL NET DMX.

2. Technical Details and Installation

This DIN-Rail mounted gateway is robust and engineered for professional environments.

  • Installation: Designed for professional 35mm DIN rail installation (Dimensions: 72x90x64mm, IP20 rated).
  • Power: Requires KNX bus power (21~30V DC) and a minimal auxiliary power supply (40mA/24V DC).
  • Connectivity: Uses 1~2.5mm² cable terminals for DMX Line In/Out, ensuring secure connections.
  • Application: Perfect for controlling LED color devices like computer lights, moving head lights, and lasers in large venues.
