The HDL-M/DM04.1 KNX 4CH 1.5A MOSFET Dimming Actuator is a DIN-rail phase dimmer for up to four independent lighting circuits. Each channel delivers 1.5 A of MOSFET dimming output, with a combined maximum of 6 A across all channels. The module accepts mains at 100–240 V AC and is controlled via the KNX bus, with per-channel manual override on the front panel.
Part of HDL's MOSFET dimming actuator family (also available in 2CH 3 A and 6CH 1.5 A variants), the M/DM04.1 supports both leading-edge and trailing-edge dimming modes. Leading edge is recommended for inductive loads; trailing edge for resistive and most LED loads. Parallel channel configuration allows combining outputs for higher current on a single circuit.
Key Features — 4 × 1.5 A MOSFET Dimming
Dimming Outputs
- 4 channels: Independent MOSFET dimming outputs at 1.5 A per channel.
- 6 A total: Maximum combined output current across all four channels.
- Leading / trailing edge: Selectable dimming mode per channel in ETS — leading for inductive, trailing for other load types.
- Parallel outputs: Channels can be paralleled for heavy-current circuits.
- Load types: Incandescent, halogen, and dimmable LED (per HDL datasheet guidance).
Application Functions (ETS)
- Scene control and scene dimming: Integration into KNX lighting scenes.
- Staircase light, flashing light, sequence control: Timed and sequenced lighting behaviour.
- Dimming limits: Upper and lower dimming level control per channel.
- Heating control (PWM): PWM output mode for compatible loads.
- Monitoring: ON-time statistics, status response, and status recovery after bus voltage return.
- Temperature: Read temperature and overheat alarm functions.
Protection and Manual Control
- Short-circuit, overload, and overheat protection on each output.
- Manual override: Per-channel switching and dimming via front-panel buttons (A, B, C, D) with status LEDs.
- Programming access: KNX programming button/LED and standard red/black bus connector.

Applications and KNX Integration
- Residential and hospitality lighting: Dim multiple zones of halogen, incandescent, or phase-dimmable LED from KNX switches and touch panels.
- Scene-based control: Recall preset lighting levels from HDL touch panels such as the HDL Granite Display (M/PTL4.1).
- Higher channel count: For six circuits at 1.5 A each, choose the HDL-M/DM06.1 6CH MOSFET Dimming Actuator (9 A total).
- 1–10 V dimming alternative: For fluorescent ballasts and 1–10 V LED drivers, HDL offers the 6CH 0–10 V dimming actuator range.
- System power: Supply the KNX bus from an HDL M/P960.1 960 mA Power Supply on large installations.
Choosing HDL MOSFET Dimming Actuators
The M/DM04.1 fits projects needing four 1.5 A dimmed circuits in a compact 144 mm-wide module. Step up to the M/DM06.1 when six channels are required, or choose the M/DM02.1 (2CH × 3 A) for fewer, higher-current circuits. All share the same MOSFET dimming platform, ETS parameterization, and protection features.
